There is a place for chaos and flexibility. But to perform your best over a lifetime, the most important thing to learn is the value of consistent habits. We need to be like a tree branch. It is hard and keeps its shape, but can bend to the wind during all but the harshest of storms.
Find the one thing in your life that gives you purpose. Then make sure you do it a little bit every day. Preferably at the same time each day. Even if it’s only a tiny bit. Write just one page a day, and in a year you have a full-length novel. Publish a novel every year. In ten years, you will be reaping the compound effects of ten published novels.
Act on it
Find something that works for you. Do you notice that your golf swing got a little better after practicing for an hour last week? Why not devote ten minutes a day to practicing your golf swing? Do this for anything in life that you find beneficial. Do a little every day. In a lifetime you will become great.
