Coach.me is an app for setting personal habits. You set the habits you want and check-in each time you complete the habit. You can also hire coaches through the app to answer your questions and motivate you to achieve your habit goals.
Coach.me also shows data on how many people set specific goals. This data demonstrates the popularity of particular habits. I took the top 50 habits and compiled them into a model for how to have a perfect day.
Your Morning Routine
It starts out in the morning when you wake up. The morning routine is critical to start your day off right. First off, wake up no later than 6:30 AM and brush your teeth. For the first couple hours in the morning, you are going to have a “Miracle Morning.”
After briefly washing up and weighing yourself on your bathroom scale, sit still, close your eyes, and meditate for 10 minutes. The meditation will include being grateful and praying.
After your meditation session, you will do some exercise for at least 10 minutes to get the blood flowing. Popular ways to exercise include going to the gym, running, pushups, crunches, plank, biking, swimming, and stretching. Mix it up and do different exercises each day.
After your brief exercise session, sit down and do some writing. For the next 10 minutes, write down your priorities for the day and list to-do items. Write in your journal about anything you like.
Then for another 10 minutes, read a couple of motivational quotes and a few pages of a personal improvement book. By now it should be about 7:30 or 8:00 AM and you are ready to have breakfast.
Your Diet
Your diet is crucial to your health and well-being.
Make sure you eat breakfast every morning. For every meal you eat—including breakfast—eat a portion of protein (like chicken, fish, or beef), a portion of legumes (like lentils or black beans), and a portion of vegetables (like spinach or broccoli). Drink only water and remember to take your vitamins after breakfast.
Do not eat anything sweet and avoid all white carbohydrates (like bread, rice, pasta, and potatoes).
For one day each week, you can eat whatever you want (“cheat day”). Make sure you eat some fresh fruit during your cheat day.
Your Work Day
By now you should be ready for your “workday.” At the office (assuming you have one), take a few minutes to unclutter your work area. When at your computer, practice “Inbox Zero” to keep e-mail under control.
Remember to take breaks from your work. Take a walk outdoors. Try to talk to at least one stranger each day. Floss after meals.
There are a few good ongoing habits you should remember throughout your workday. Remember to keep good posture at all times. Remember to stop and enjoy life. Remember Richard Branson’s advice, “Listen more than you talk. Nobody learned anything by hearing themselves speak.”
Your Free Time
Make a couple of hours of time each day for your “free time.” During this time, read something useful for 20-30 minutes. Take another 20-30 minutes to write a blog post and write three positive things about your day in your journal. Brainstorm some ways to save money and write those down in your journal as well.
Then split the next hour between practicing a musical instrument and working on whatever hobby you’re passionate about. You might want to call your parents too.
Finally, your perfect day is winding down. Just make sure you sleep before midnight so tomorrow can be just as perfect.
