In 2002 on my way back to the United States from Taiwan, I took advantage of a deal from the airline where I could stay in Osaka for a week before I took the connecting flight back. I stayed in Osaka and made a foray into the neighboring towns of Kyoto and Nara. Unfortunately, the memory card on my digital camera died and I lost most of the pictures. Here are a few that survived:
Don’t jump into the river
Japan was hosting the World Cup and signs were posted on the bridge warning excited fans not to jump into the canal
Temple of the Golden Pavilion
Kinkaku-ji, Temple of the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto
Kofukuji Temple Pagoda
Pagoda at Kofukuji Temple in Nara
Temple in Kyoto?
I think this is in Kyoto, but I can’t remember for sure
Interesting buildings
An interesting looking building in Osaka
High-tech bathroom technology
The toilet at a Starbucks, very high-tech
Massive shopping centers
